NCIS NOLA’s Lucas Black addresses ‘refreshing’ new role ‘No one is trying to outdo anyone’

NCIS NEW ORLEANS star Lucas Black, best known as Special Agent Christopher Lasalle, has taken to social media to talk about his role in an upcoming film arriving on screens next year.

American actor Lucas Black is also known for his major role as Sean Boswell in the blockbuster Fast and Furious franchise. After departing his long-running stint with the CBS series in 2019, the NCIS star has announced an exciting new project and has been teasing what’s to come on his Instagram page.

Lucas is working in front of and behind the camera on location for his as yet untitled new project.

While details are scarce, the NCIS star has made it clear the new project will be a family friendly adventure film centred on fatherhood.

In recent weeks, he has been taking to social media on location to chat about how his new role compares to his previous roles.

“This working environment is refreshing,” he wrote.

“Everyone on this project is happy to be working. No one is trying to outdo anyone and everyone pitches in to help when it is needed.”

His recent snaps have revealed a number of outdoor environments for the film, with a modest production crew all pitching in to assist with the shoot.

The former NCIS agent is front and centre and will presumably star in the film’s leading role.

He’s revealed a number of shots of himself reflecting by a campfire as cameras roll, as well as lending a hand behind-the-scenes.

“Also, we can see everyone’s smiling faces,” his caption continued.

“Our leaders from the very beginning made it clear what the goals are and cast a vision for all involved.

“We want to create an entertaining movie that promotes men stepping up to be good loving fathers.”

Lucas also maintained the series wouldn’t be promoting any hidden messages.

No plot details have been divulged, but the actor explained the story will follow a father who steps up to protect his family.

He wrote: “We want to create an entertaining movie that promotes men stepping up to be good loving fathers.

“There are no hidden agendas or surprising rewrites during this one.

“Everyone is on board with the message of fathers being there for their children and loving them no matter what.”

The actor has been working through extreme weather conditions to shoot the film’s intense action sequences.

His recent post from earlier this week has revealed a snowy backdrop, and Lucas holding a rifle overlooking an icy landscape.

He revealed in an Instagram comment the film is aiming to release near Thanksgiving next year, though a distributor and official release date has yet to be confirmed.

Outside of his personal project, the NCIS alum will later star in the final two films in the Fast and Furious franchise, which will kick off in 2023.
