Blue Bloods season 13 theory: Frank to step down as commissioner after major snub
Blue Bloods fans could be in for a major surprise as Frank could resign from his highly respected role.
The muti-generational drama, Blue Bloods had gained thousands of fans since it first premiered in 2010. Those viewers will be taken aback when police commissioner Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck) is surprisingly snubbed for a major event, which could potentially lead to his resignation.
With his position in the NYPD as police commissioner, Frank is well-regarded and highly respected among his peers.
Alongside his prior experience as an NYPD police officer, Frank became an esteemed member of law enforcement for using his knowledge to conduct his own investigations.
He also took incredible pride in his family, especially since all three of his adult children followed in his footsteps and work in law enforcement.
Despite his achievements, the upcoming episode could see Frank’s role called into question.

The logline for episode six, On Dangerous Ground, reads: “Danny and Jamie clash over a gang-related shooting Erin and Anthony search for answers when a lawyer in their office jeopardizes a case involving Erin’s nephew.
“Frank grows concerned when he’s not invited to speak at a policing forum.”
As police commissioner, Frank’s role is to be the voice of the people and hold the police to account and not being invited to speak at the event will undoubtedly come as a surprise.

This would be a major shift for Frank, as he took intense pride in his job and stood firmly in his uniform, even when things went bad.
In season one he was incredibly popular with the officers but this drastically changed in season six when the view of police officers changed among the public.
As he was about to deliver a speech at Columbia University, Frank was instantly booed off the stage by a room full of college students.
He was almost served with a vote of no confidence, after Frank was made to apologise when a rookie officer accidentally shot a Black man, instead of waiting for the official report.
Tom Selleck had previously spoken out about his character’s future in the NYPD and hinted the commissioner would soon step down.
The actor revealed: “Frank is seriously considering resignation.
“The job is so wearing on him, he’s looked for ways out before, but this time it’s serious.
“He doesn’t think he’s being effective in this antipolice climate, and he can’t protect the rank and file. So maybe it’s time for new blood,” Tom added to TV Insider.
Blue Bloods season 13 is available to stream on CBS in the US. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
